RumChata Pudding Shots

If you have a family party, holiday, or tailgate coming up, I highly recommend offering these pudding shots to your guests! They are smooth, creamy, and have the best vanilla-cinnamon flavor…with some RumChata and vodka thrown in there too!

This recipe is very easy to double, triple, quadruple; you get the idea. To make 50 pudding shots, you need 1 cup of RumChata and 1 cup of vodka. A standard fifth (750ml) of alcohol holds 3 cups, so if you want to use the whole bottle, you’ll be making 150 shots! That sounds like a lot but these go down so easy and are so tasty that you will want to have extra. People will be asking for more! Let’s begin.

Ingredients: RumChata, vanilla vodka, whole milk, vanilla instant pudding, Cool-Whip

Vanilla vodka pairs super well with the RumChata liqueur. You could also try birthday cake vodka, since that also has a vanilla flavor profile. I’d stay away from any other flavored vodkas, especially fruit ones. You want the smooth, creamy taste of RumChata to be the main focus. All the other ingredients in these pudding shots support that cinnamon-vanilla deliciousness.

To mix up a batch: combine the RumChata, milk, and instant vanilla pudding mix together. Then stir in the vodka. Finally, fold in the whipped topping until everything’s combined.

The vodka will separate a bit. No need to over mix – just fold the whipped topping into the mixture.

The last step is to fill the 2 ounce plastic cups. You can use a cookie scoop or spoon, but the easiest method is to use a piping bag or large plastic zip top bag. Grab a tall container and place the plastic bag inside it. Fold the opening of the bag around the lip of the container. Pour the RumChata mix into the bag. Seal the top and twist so all the mixture is pushed into one corner. Get all the plastic cups lined up first, then cut the tip of the bag and squeeze to fill each serving. Make sure to leave some room at the top of each 2 ounce cup because the pudding mix will expand when it chills.

Sprinkle the filled cups with ground cinnamon to round out the RumChata flavor!

Once the shot cups are filled with pudding mix, sprinkled with cinnamon, and sealed, it’s time to chill! Literally. Stick these in the fridge, freezer, or a cooler full of ice until ready to serve. Wherever you have room! When it’s time to pass the shots out, I recommend serving them with small wooden spoons or popsicle sticks for mess-free consumption!

RumChata Pudding Shots

  • 1 cup RumChata liqueur
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 (3.4oz) packets of vanilla instant pudding
  • 1 cup vanilla vodka
  • 1 (16oz) tub whipped topping
  • 50 (2oz) plastic condiment cups

Combine ingredients: Whisk RumChata, milk, and vanilla pudding mix together. Stir in vanilla vodka. Fold in whipped topping until well combined.

Fill condiment cups: Use a cookie scoop, spoon, piping bag, or large plastic bag to fill the condiment cups, leaving a little room on top for expansion. See instructions above on how to use a plastic bag to fill the cups.
